Newcastle and Aston Villa are currently 2 of the Premier Leagues most in form teams and with them both chasing European spots this promises to be an entertaining match up.
Villa's reinvigorating under Unai Emery have seen them undefeated in their last 7 games, managing 6 wins, and climbing into 6th and consequentially into the fray for a UEFA Conference League Spot. Competition is tight as Brighton are only a single point behind so each point is vital.
Newcastle will also be full of confidence on their visit to Villa Park as they come on the back of a 5-game win streak, and now occupy 3rd place. They are also in for an exciting end of the season as they are ahead of Manchester United on goal difference and are only 3 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspurs, in 5th.
Both teams will want a result here so I believe player shots is a good angle to take. 2 players in particular stand out to me. Ollie Watkins is in the form of his life at the moment, scoring 10 goals in his last 12 games. He currently averages 1.42 shots on target a game this season and has managed 12 in his last 5 games. Villa have scored in their last 17 games and with Watkins in this form he should get opportunities against a Newcastle side that has kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 9 games.
Alexander Isak is also in solid form scoring 5 goals in his last 5 games, and is expected to keep his starting in the team ahead of Callum Wilson. Isak averages 1.42 shots on target this season, with him managing 8 in his last 5. With competition tight for a Champions League Spot every point is important for Newcastle so I expect Isak to be very important in this final run in.
