🏴Liverpool v Arsenal 🏴
Out of sorts Liverpool take on title chasing Arsenal at Anfield and once again I’ll be avoiding the WDW market in favour of a nicely priced player shot bet, offered by bet365.
England starlet Bukayo Saka really is the man for the big game and big occasion. After his superb performance for England against Ukraine (where he opened the scoring with an absolute beauty), Saka was then rested during Arsenal’s home game against Leeds, presumably keeping him fresh for this all important match at Anfield.
Saka has been racking up superb shot numbers, pretty much all season, but he’s really hit his straps over the last few months. Barring their game against Man City, Saka has hit 37 shots in his last 10 games, averaging 3.7 shots per game. In those 10 games, he’s had a shot on target in 9 of them (2,2,1,1,0,2,1,2,1,2). In fact, in his 22 league starts, he’s had: 2,0,2,1,1,0,2,1,2,1,2,0,1,1,1,1,0,1,1,1,1,1 shots on target. Which gives this bet a success rate of 82%.
I think the way Liverpool play - pushing high up the pitch and leaving space in behind - could leave Saka with the time and space he needs to run at defenders, cut in on that trusty left peg and let fly. Arsenal average 14.2 shots on their travels, including 5.4 shots on target. If Arsenal do get around 6 or so shots on target at Anfield today, I’m more than happy to hedge my bets on Bukayo Saka getting just 1 of them. In fact, in the earlier meeting between the sides back in October at the Emirates, Saka put in a man of the match performance, scoring 2 goals and hitting 3 shots on target as he gave Tsimikas a torrid time. There’s a good chance he’ll be facing the same opponent today which also bodes well for this bet.
Finally, Saka also had a shot on target in the same fixture last season. Arsenal should see even more of the ball with their improvement this season, improving our chances even more.
